Nov 2013 – St Austell Away
Perran Tennis Come Close
Saturday 9th November saw Perran Tennis travel to St Austell for their latest match in the County Mixed Doubles League. This was their third match of the season and saw the inclusion of Caroline Finlayson for the first time. Perran Tennis use rotation to give their players match experience for the forthcoming summer season when they will be entering a men’s and a ladies team.
This proved to be a close fought encounter with only three games separating the two teams by the end of play. Caroline Finlayson and Kate Coles came up against good opposition and lost their first tie, but Steve Hawken and James Betty levelled the match going into the mixed ties. With both St Austell and Perranporth winning one mixed match each it left the match tied in sets. Â Unfortunately Perran Tennis lost on game count back by just three games. Perran Tennis continue to improve and it will not be long before they get a win under their belts. Next Saturday Perran Tennis entertain St Agnes at 10am.
