New seeds to be sown at Perran Tennis
We need your Help!
Perran Tennis is really excited to announce success in being chosen as one of the three projects to receive funding from “Tesco Bags of Help”.
The project will see three to six of the only grass courts in Cornwall re-turfed to match play standard.
Assured of an £8,000 award the Club may benefit from a further amount of £2,000 or even £4,000 if they were to top the contest.
Shoppers in the Newquay stores in East Street and North Cliff will be able to cast their votes for Perran Tennis from 26th September through to 9th October.
Please help us to create a mini Wimbledon in the county. Buy an apple or a bar of chocolate or just anything and vote to help this worthwhile project in Cornwall.
From a Club facing closure with less than 30 members and a derelict site five years ago Perran Tennis has come on leaps and bounds to become a thriving club for the community. A really proactive committee have seen the three hard courts resurfaced, floodlighting added and a complete refurbishment of the pavilion inside and out are now viewing a further enhancement to the six grass courts. A one thousand percent increase in membership has seen the now 300 members and visitors enjoy affordable tennis.
Please help us to help the people of Cornwall retain the only grass courts left in the County.
