Perran Tennis First Teen Tournament
Wednesday 16th April
Perran Tennis hosted its first “Teen Tennis Tournament” last Wednesday. Originated by junior club member Amani Hart and assisted by Club Coach Steve Luck, the afternoon saw ten boys and tens girls aged 13 to 17 take to the new hard courts. Each player competed in five rounds of social tennis, which was enjoyed by a sizable number of spectators. The play was followed by a tea provided by the players and organised by parents – Susan Hart and Ellie Winn.
Medals and prizes were awarded to the highest scoring players. The girls competition was drawn with Amani Hart and Layla Stewart taking the prizes. The boys had an overall winner- Oliver Walker with Connor Eade taking second place.
It is hoped to repeat the event a number of times throughout the season.
