Perran Tennis Wooden Racket Competition

The charity shops, ebay and attics were thoroughly searched prior to this latest event at Perran Tennis. Perran Tennis members armed with their newly found rackets from the 30’s to the 60’s took to the courts this Sunday and enjoyed some old fashioned matches on the grass. Some tightly contested rounds were played throughout the afternoon culminating in a grand final and tea. A professional tie-break was played out to decide the overall winners. Chris Legg was partnered by Jill Stott in the final against top points scorer Melissa Turnbull and Ali Legg.

Chris and Jill took the match and prizes were shared by the four finalists. Everyone enjoyed the afternoon and the tea prepared by club treasurer Alison Luck. Members look forward to the June event, a timed tournament to be held on the 14th, non-members are most welcome.
