Perran Tennis First Summer Junior Match Play Afternoon

Perran Tennis held the first of five junior tournaments at the club on Friday. As usual there was a good entry. Twenty juniors took to the six grass courts and played six rounds of Perran Tennis’s version of fast four. Each match consisted of four games with a tie-break being played if the score two games each. The club welcomed visitors from Yorkshire and London who mixed in with club juniors.

West Briton

Both sections were closely contested. In the girls group Martha Marney and Laura James tied with a score of 16.5. The clear winner was Georgie Luscombe with 20 points. The boys section saw Jack Commons take third slot with 17.5 points, Will Marney was runner up with 18.5 points. The winner with the same score as Georgie (20 points) was Will Barnett.

Medals were presented by Alan from Yorkshire. There will be another match play afternoon next Friday from 2pm to 4.30pm. This is open to non-members as well as members. Further information can be obtained by Contacting Club Coach Steve Luck on 07860 446209.
