Perran Tennis builds up for the U.S. Open!

Perran Tennis held the fourth junior match play afternoon of the summer holidays. Despite a bad weather forecast thirteen players arrived at 2pm for six rounds of Perran Tennis version of fast four. Doubles and singles were alternated on the grass courts producing some close encounters. The boys section saw new winner Will Marney accumulating eighteen and a half points. In joint second place were Matt Legg and Ben Palmer with sixteen points. Will’s sister Martha took third place with thirteen and a half points in the girl’s event. The medal had to be fought out in a tie-break as Willow Thomson and Maddi Pippin both scored fourteen and a half points. Maddi came through to take the medal alongside Will Marney.

With the U.S. Open approaching the afternoon events finished with a target competition to win New York road signs. The winners proudly display their prizes and medals in the photograph.
