Perran Tennis 3rd Junior Tournament

Despite a wet morning the third junior tournament of the summer attracted twenty entrants. The grass courts were playable – all six being utilised. A mixture of orange ball, green ball and yellow ball matches progressed throughout the afternoon. Six rounds of matches were played by each competitor. The orange ball group saw a third and fourth playoff between Nieve and Marcus, which Nieve won. The final between Daniel Bradley and Erin Hoskings was a close affair, Erin eventually taking the bronze medal.

In the main event Vince took third place with 27 ½ points, following closely behind were Charlie with 26 ½ points and Martha with 26 points. The players though who were most consistent came through. Jack Commons took the silver medal with 28 points – this a first for Jack. Matt Legg went one better this week to win the event taking the gold medal with 29 points. There are a further two junior tournaments to be held on the next two Fridays at 2pm. All juniors are welcome to take part. Further information from Club Coach Steve Luck on 07860 446209.
