Perran Tennis 2nd Junior Match Play

Perran Tennis hosted the 2nd junior match play competition of the summer holidays. Juniors took to the grass courts and played six rounds of doubles and singles. In hot conditions there were some very close matches. The Perran Tennis version of fast four saw many matches going to tie-breaks. There were many fine performances especially from Mack Wallis and Seb Bartlett. In the girl’s section third place went to Georgie Luscombe with twelve points. Martha Marney was runner-up with 12.5 points, but the clear medal winner Lydia Hawken scored an impressive eighteen points. The boy’s competition saw the Legg brothers return from holiday – Samuel taking third place with fourteen points and Matt with fourteen and half points gaining the runner-up slot. Last week’s winner Will Bartlett with a score of sixteen points was the worthy winner. Medals were presented by club president Dave Pell.

These weekly fun competitions are open to juniors aged eight to eighteen – non-members are most welcome. Further information from Steve Luck (Club Coach) on 07860 446209.
